Hello and welcome to the VAHS Counseling page. We hope that you will find these pages full of helpful resources you can use as you navigate your high school career.

Ms. Christine Weaver, Counselor for last names A to K

I am excited to begin my second year here at Van Alstyne High School, where it feels like family. I have always believed that school counseling was more of my calling than my profession. It brings great satisfaction when I am given the opportunity to help students believe in themselves, plan for their futures and attain their goals. I am here to help my students, their parents and the faculty of VAHS; your success is my success. The 2019-2020 school year will be my 25th year in Education. I’ve enjoyed the privilege of teaching across several primary and intermediate grade levels and have twelve years of experience as a Middle School and High School Counselor. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas and my Master’s Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma.

I look forward to a brand new school year, getting to know each of you and becoming a part of your story!

Christine Weaver, M.Ed.

Ms. Candace Wilmoth, Counselor for last names L to Z

I am so excited to join the VA High School team this school year! I am extremely passionate about high school students and helping them achieve their goals, whether they are academic, social, or emotional. I am coming straight out of the classroom where I was a physics and astronomy teacher for McKinney ISD. I am originally from the Houston area, but have had the opportunity to live and work all over the southern United States. I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University - College Station and my master's degree at Angelo State University. Outside of school, my passion is for animals and agriculture, and my free time is spent raising and training dogs for service work and Quarter Horses. I look forward to supporting students and parents this year, and I know I will learn as much from y'all as you learn from me.
