Each student who drives to school is required to display a parking permit.
Parking Permits can be purchased in the front office at VAHS. Parking Permits cost $25 cash or check (made out to VAHS) or online at https://vaisd.revtrak.net/.
Students must bring a confirmation of payment (if payment is made online), a current/valid driver’s license, proof of liability insurance (student insured as a driver), and vehicle license plate number in order to receive a permit.
In addition to a Parking Permit, any student who drives to campus must accept the following conditions:
- Drug Testing (Secondary Grade Levels Only) - The District requires random drug testing for any student in grades 9-12 who chooses to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities or requests a permit to park a vehicle on school property.
- All motor driven vehicles must display a current VAHS parking permit while parked on the campus. Students are not allowed to give their parking permit to other students. If your permit is lost or stolen, it must be reported and replaced at the student’s expense.
- Students will not remain in their vehicles for any reason after they have parked.
- Students are not to return to the vehicle unless they are leaving the campus or accompanied by a faculty member. Vehicles are not to be used as lockers, and you may not relocate parking spaces during the school day.
- The speed limit in all parking lots is 10 miles per hour.
- All vehicles must stop and identify yourself when requested by Campus Police or any campus personnel.
- I understand that the school has a closed lunch policy and that I am not to leave the campus or transport another student from the campus unless I have properly checked out with my attendance office and obtained permission to do so. Parents must be physically present to check out students during lunch.
- I understand that the school district has the right to search my vehicle if there is reasonable cause to believe it contains articles or materials prohibited by the district (VAHS does utilize drug dogs randomly throughout the year). Illegal contraband found in a student’s vehicle is subject to automatic suspension of parking privileges.
- Van Alstyne Independent School District is not responsible for property damage or theft from any vehicle parked on the school campus
*** Any Violations of the above policies could result in Administrative Consequences (including losing the privilege of driving on campus). Repeated Parking Lot Violations and your vehicle will be towed at your expense.
