FFA- VAISD

Chartered on November 23, 1948, the Van Alstyne FFA has long been a fixture in the Van Alstyne ISD and the Van Alstyne community. The Van Alstyne FFA  “makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education”.

The Van Alstyne FFA participates in Leadership Development Career Events in the fall semester; and Career Development Events in the spring semester.

The students with a Supervised Agricultural Experience (animals, jobs, research projects) learn by doing and create a SAE in one of the following categories:  Entrepreneurship, Placement, Research, or Exploratory.

FFA is a National organization that is represented by over 500,000 members in all 50 states, as well as, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The FFA was founded in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America and in 1988 Future Farmers of America changed its name to The National FFA in order to reflect the growing diversity of American Agriculture.
